2016 – The Year of the Open Scroll By Mike McClung

This coming year promises to be one of the most chaotic, yet exciting years for the body of Messiah since Pentecost. It will be a year of restoration – the beginning of our seeing restored what has been lost, stolen, destroyed by the enemy, and willingly laid down in sacrifice unto the Lord.

The scripture that the Lord gave me for 2016 is Revelation 1:18 (NKJV): I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. The following are bullets of what I believe the Lord has spoken to me of what we’ll see and experience as a beginning of this kingdom restoration movement:

• A year of resurrection, restoration and transformation. Plans, purposes, promises, visions, etc, that have seemingly “died” will have the breath of the Spirit come upon them this year. While the world grows darker, His resurrection power will begin to release glory in and through those who have remained faithful to Him through intense times of testing, persecution, loss and endurance. Just like Isaac who sowed in a time of famine and reaped 100-fold (Gen. 26), there will be a corresponding reaping to those who have continued to do likewise. Many prophets and pundits are calling for worsening times in our country and the world, and this will continue to happen as we cannot pray away what the Lord says He will allow to happen in scripture. However, the enemy has continued to try to push things out of time, because the body of Christ is woefully unprepared to stand in the day of battle (Ezek. 13:5). The Lord is putting His hand sovereignly into the affairs of this earth and putting a stop to the actions of the Luciferian elite and their control. In an extraordinary display of His mercy and patience, He will even give these evil-consumed puppet-masters one more opportunity to repent, as He did King Manasseh. They will have one more opportunity to “kiss the Son” (Psalm 2) before He executes greater judgment on them.
• Transfer of wealth. One of those judgments will be coming upon the worldly and religious harlot system’s finances. Wealth doesn’t just disappear, it has to go somewhere. The Rothschilds, one of the most evil, elite bloodlines that control international banking, media, and ultimately governments, have a family wealth totaling over 500 trillion dollars. That’s about to shrink, as will those others who have “set themselves against the Lord and His Anointed”. We will truly begin to see the wealth of the wicked transferring into the hands of the just who have allowed themselves to be disciplined and trained to handle such wealth for His kingdom’s sake.
• The true restoration of the Tabernacle of David (Acts 15:15-18). The word of God plainly states that the joining together of Jew and Gentile into one body, and the open, unveiled revelation and presence of the Lord in that same body of Christ, is the restoration of the Tabernacle of David. There has been prophetic worship and apostolic intercession happening for many years, as these expressions of the TOD are central to its ministry. However, in my personal experience as the former director of the IHOP-Knoxville, many of those who have participated in these worship/warfare ministries did not go far enough in letting the Lord do a deep purifying work in their lives separating them from all that the worldly and religious Babylon/Harlot system entails. Self-centeredness, ambition, idolatry, immorality, rebellion, bitterness, ad infinitum have been clung to by many who did not understand that to see His glory and power established, and His government extended (which, along with HARVEST, are the main “products” of the TOD), we must separate ourselves to Him alone (2 Cor. 6:16-7:1). These “night and day” worship and prayer ministries either have been going through, or are about to experience a deep cleansing and purging to bring forth a true “Melchizedek” priesthood that will reflect bridal glory. As previously stated, His authority will be released to establish His presence and power over those geographic areas He has made the offer to.

Year of the Open Scroll

Another passage of scripture the Lord gave me for 2016 is Rev. 10. This does not mean that the fullness of this passage will come to fruition, but I believe the subjectiveness of revelation means that His word will become more “fully alive” and revealed than ever before.

Rev. 10:1-11: “I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, ‘Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.’ The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets. Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, ‘Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.’ And I went to the angel and said to him, ‘Give me the little book.’ And he said to me, ‘Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.’ Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. And he said to me, ‘You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.’”

This prophetic word came forth on Sunday, December 13, 2015:

“This coming year, I am going to restore the anointing and authority on the word that has been in refinement over the last four years. My Spirit will cause My word to go forth with power, conviction and fire.”

“You will prophesy again, but now with the authority that comes from the word becoming a living, transforming force in you, and now through you.”

The aged apostle had been prophesying for many years, seeing marvelous fruit come as a result of his preaching and prophetic testimony of the Lord Jesus. Yet, the angel says now, because of a great opening of the scroll, thus signifying a greater revelation and authority coming from the word that fully expresses the Person known as the Living Word, the power and scope of his preaching and proclamation will result in a harvest among “many peoples, nations, tongues and kings”.

The Lord is putting His hand down into the affairs of men, calling a halt to the plans of realm of darkness trying to move things past the place of containment and restraint before its allotted time. We are entering a seven year period of restoration to allow the body of Christ to repent, correct things, train and get into position for the latter days of glory, harvest and warfare that are coming. It’s not a time to turn over and go back to nice, neat Babylonian “Christianity” (which is called harlotry in scripture). It’s time for the saints of God to arise as an army and see the fullness of salvation put on display (Rom. 13)!
