The Beginning of a New Kingdom Season Part 1– January 2013 By Mike McClung

The following is part of a larger article on what the Lord has been intimating to me for the coming season/years. The whole article will be posted on our website, lionheartministries.org, but we will be releasing each section as a smaller article each week for the next six weeks. May these articles, bless, challenge and encourage all. Mike McClung

At the end of October 2012 the Lord began to speak to me about certain aspects of this new and final season of restoration (Acts 3:21) that we are entering that will lead up to the return of the Lord Jesus. The following are “intimations” of what I believe the Lord is ordering to bring about the fullness of His purposes that will engage great conflict, but at the same time, bring great harvest in every dimension of our lives. One of my personal consternations at present is that there seems to be no clear, definitive “word of the Lord.” We all see through a glass darkly, but what is needed right now is a clear, powerful, authoritative word that will shake the body of Christ awake, bring true repentance and it’s spiritual fruit, and empower the body of Messiah to fully manifest His grace and glory that will be needed to overcome the powers of darkness.
Satanic power and influence is growing at an unprecedented rate, with the majority of humanity now completely blinded to the heart, purposes and plans of the Lord and in complete agreement with the demonic mindsets prevailing in western culture. There is NO antidote to this! We have reached a tipping point and nothing man can do (much less the religious machinery of the outward church) to turn back this tsunami of evil, and its resultant judgment. But…! The Lord always has kept in reserve, as C.S. Lewis put it in The Lion, the Witch and Wardrobe - a “deeper magic” (resurrection power) - that the enemy blindly never has, or never will take into consideration. This is going to be the finest hour for those in the body of Christ that will fully surrender and allow themselves to be broken, humbled, and trained by the Lord of hosts! The glory of the Lord is about to arise in the darkest places through the most “unusable” people, at least in their own and other undiscerning minds….

A Season of Separation; Confinement to God’s Will

Jesus flatly stated, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). With all the energy, money and activity that has been consumed and carried out in the organized church in western culture, little of the manifest presence, power and glory of the Lord has been established or expanded. His will is for His kingdom to manifest in and through us. The primary export and product of the body of Christ is His Presence, not religious or social programs.

In what might be considered a tinge of boasting, the apostle Paul said that the grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, had accomplished more through him than all the rest of the apostles (1 Cor. 15:10). Why, because he had a greater anointing? A greater bankroll or contributors to his ministry? It was because of none of these. He states that the Lord was able to express Himself through his life to such an extent because he voluntarily became the Lord’s prisoner (Eph. 3:1; 4:1; 2 Tim 1:8; Philemon 1:1, 9). If we are going to have true apostles with real apostolic authority, then we are going to have to have those who have forsaken every right and privilege they have or might claim to become the Lord’s prisoner. The “prisoner” of the Lord is actually His highest trained special operative sent in to deal with enemy strongholds that regular infantry or troops could never handle or face. They are His “lethal weapons” who are founded in the four-dimensional love of God and know His fullness (Eph. 3:14-21). They are unmovable in the face of the enemy’s raging and attacks. True apostles and a true apostolic people have no “reverse gear” or “plan B”. They persevere through any and all circumstances in their lives which only serve to break their soulish life and forge the character of Christ. These things are allowed by the Lord in order for their lives to become an altar strong enough to hold the weight of His glory and authority. This process of conformity to the image of Christ, this process of maturity, means being confined only to the will of God and moved by nothing else.

One of the methods Abba uses to train a true apostle and an apostolic people is by experiencing rejection. David knew this training, as did Joseph, Paul, and the Lord Jesus, Himself. Passing the test of rejection, false accusation and abandonment (and forgiving those who have perpetrated it), and refusing to become bitter or resentful, is the final stage of becoming the prisoner of the Lord. To those who have suffered these trials of faith – rejection, abandonment, etc. - and have refused to take revenge, live in resentment, or personally vindicate themselves, well done! You have been prepared to help lead others into this final season of harvest and glory.
